Drafting your Dream Home ~ Our Process
Introductions + Consultation
We can’t wait to meet you! Fill out our online form or email us at rachelle@walltowalldesign.ca to introduce yourself and your exciting new project. We will be in touch within 48 hours to schedule your initial consultation. We will then take time to get to know you and your project so we can prepare a proposal containing everything you need to make your dream home a reality.
Project Proposal
Possibly one of the most exciting emails to receive: your project proposal! We will have outlined all details of your project including schedule, budget, scope, and more about the different stages of our process. Once the project proposal is approved, both parties will sign a contract and the work begins!
Layout + Preliminary Sketches
We start each new drafting project with preliminary drawings with multiple layouts and options. By providing various options, we learn what your needs and wants are so we can make the best recommendations for you and your family.
We always consider interior and exterior aesthetics, so every aspect of your home is comfortable and made for daily living.
Revisions
From there, we make adjustments (however many are necessary) until each sightline, layout, and function is just right.
Full Working Blueprints + Hand Off!
Your plans are then transformed into ‘buildable’ blueprints. At this stage, we ensure your plans follow all Alberta building codes. We also estimate the cost of building your plans and design with efficiency so as to not create unnecessary expenses.
For each new home client, we also include an artistic hand drawing or multiple 2D renderings of their new home to help with exterior material and colour selections.
At this point, your custom home is ready to be built! All files and plans expertly drawn by Wall to Wall Design are ready for permits and your contractor.

Your custom home is more than its curb appeal. While designing and drafting, we consider things that are important in everyday life like sightlines, privacy, and ease of access.
Costs can add up quickly in a new home build, so we pay careful attention so as to not add any unnecessary beams or extra framing or trusses. On top of all that, we consider the exterior aesthetic of the house while drafting; what the roof slopes will be, what kind of style the client is going for, and where to centre roof lines, posts, and more.
